7th Canadian Obesity Summit
For the first time in history, the Canadian Obesity Summit (COS) and the Canadian Obesity Student Meeting (COSM) collide!
This unique four day interdisciplinary conference is designed to share current understanding of the causes, complications, treatments and prevention approaches for obesity. The Canadian Obesity Summit delivers cutting-edge research conference, and it also features dedicated tracts for health practitioners and inspiring workshops organized by groups working in the obesity space.
A main focus of this conference will be COVID-19 and obesity as well as the newly published Canadian Adult Obesity Clinical Practice Guidelines. The CPGs were developed by Obesity Canada (OC) and the Canadian Association of Bariatric Physicians and Surgeons (CABPS). The new CPGs were authored by more than 60 Canadian health professionals, researchers and individuals living with obesity. Together, they assessed well over 500,000 published peer-reviewed articles and built consensus on a wide range of clinical and scientific issues to identify 80 key recommendations.
