Making the Most of Mentoring – increasing levels of personal and professional support

Friday, 4 December

Presenter: Aly McNicoll

For many public health professionals, what was an already challenging role has become a lot harder this year. ANA has organised this  practical workshop for you.

It provides the opportunity to take a ‘courageous pause’ to take stock of how you are tracking and to look at how professional mentoring could help you thrive in these challenging times.

The goals of this workshop are to:

  1. identify the differences between mentoring and supervision
  2. acknowledge the benefits of professional mentoring for the public health nutrition and physical activity workforce
  3. provide tips for finding a mentor
  4. show the impact mentoring conversations can have.

You will leave this workshop with the confidence to seek a mentoring relationship to enhance your work in public health.

The workshop is run by Aly McNicoll from NZ Coaching & Mentoring Centre. Aly is a professional mentor and coach and has trained mentors, coaches and leaders for the last 15 years. She works extensively in the health sectors of Australia and New Zealand and runs mentoring and supervision training for most of the DHBs. N.B. View Webinar is the 5-minute introduction only.
