Former Olympic rower Eric Murray shouldn’t have featured in beer advertisements because he’s a ‘hero of the young’, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has decided.
The ASA ordered the The Brewers Association to remove Murray from its Beer the Beautiful Truth ad campaign in a decision made on April 10.
Alcohol Healthwatch, which lodged the complaint with the ASA, argued the ads violated New Zealand advertising standards because Murray was a ‘hero to the young’.
